PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newspaper having high yield of ash in papermaking, produced at a low cost by recycling of resource without substantially causing abrasion deterioration of papermaking facility such as wire abrasion and printing facility stain, not only capable of keeping excellent paper strength and having little breakage of paper, but also scarcely generating stain of blanket by paper powder and printing void, etc. and excellent in ink absorbing property and opacity and suitably usable for high-definition printing, e.g. in web offset printing. SOLUTION: The newspaper comprises a raw material pulp and a filler as main component raw materials and the raw material pulp is composed of 50-100 mass% waste paper pulp, and regenerated particles using deinking floss as a raw material, obtained through a dehydration step, a drying step, a firing step and a pulverizing step and containing calcium, silicon and aluminum in a mass ratio of (30-82): (9-35): (9-35) expressed in terms of oxide and having≥90 mass% total content of the calcium, the silicon and the aluminum are at least used as the filler and basis weight in accordance with JIS P-8124 is 37-48g/m<SP>2</SP>.
