The present disclosure provides a bathmat that changes color as the temperature of water it is immersed in varies. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the mat is designed with dimensions to fit most standard kitchen sinks, and is suitable for use when bathing a baby there. This size is, of course, suitable for use in a larger bath tub as well. The mat is constructed of, or has a layer of, thermochromatic material that can display, through a change of color, the temperature of the water.
