The tension stop (15) is constructed as a resilient body surrounding the piston rod (5). It is stepped, hollow and cylindrical. It has a first external diameter at the piston end, and is fastened (20) to the rear side of the piston or to adjacent regions of the piston rod. At the end remote from the piston, it has a second, larger external diameter, to rest on a stop plate (18) connected with the casing. In the region where the tension stop diameter transitions, there are reinforcing components (19).
