[Also in Divisions E1 and E2] Horizontal scaffold tubes 1, 11 have nestable channeled end pieces 2, 12 welded to each end thereof, or formed integrally at each end, said end pieces extending vertically and being fastened to the scaffolding uprights 20. The fastening may be effected by bolts passing through the uprights and vertical slots in the lower ends of the end pieces, with nuts locating the end pieces, or by bolts passing into threaded bores in the uprights via the end pieces, or by sockets fixed to the uprights in which the end pieces sit. The sockets may be permanently or releasably fixed to the uprights. Diagonal braces (Figs. 44-46, not shown) may be provided with fixed channeled end-pieces or swivelling end clamps. Framework, e.g. 80, or telescopic ledgers (Figs. 51-53, 54 and 55, not shown) may be channeled end-pieces, and a changing transom 70 may be employed together with couplers 75. |
