1,229,703. Electrolytic capacitors. MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO. Ltd. 14 Jan., 1969 [20 Jan., 1968; 27 June, 1968 (2) ; 2 July, 1968], No. 2219/69. Heading H1M. The solid electrolyte in an electrolytic capacitor is an organic charge transfer complex capable of oxidizing the electrode metal. Acceptors specified are aromatic nitro-compounds, e.g. tetranitropyrene, picric acid, aromatic boric acids, e.g. phenylboronic acid, and quinone compounds, e.g. chloranil, bromanil. Donors may be aromatic amines, e.g. diaminopyrene, dibenzophenothiazine, phenolthiazene and tetrathiotetracene. The conductivity of the electrolyte may be increased by adding graphite. |
