The element has keyway marks formed of a set of keyway holes (316) traversing a maintenance foot (301) in a direction of thickness. The holes are provided in a support plane of the foot, where the plane is contained in a vertical plane comprising an optical axis of a headlamp of a motor vehicle. The number of the holes and/or their relative positioning defines a specific combination for determining a reference of the element. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting an occultation element in a reflector for an optical module of a headlamp.
