A plasma display panel is provided to improve optical characteristics and enhance exhaust performance for discharging residual gas within discharge cells. A rear substrate(121) is disposed opposite to a front substrate(111) in order to define red, green, and blue discharge cells arranged in lateral and longitudinal directions. A plurality of barrier ribs(130) include a plurality of first barrier ribs(131) formed between the discharge cells arranged in the lateral direction, a plurality of second barrier ribs(132) for connecting the first barrier ribs to each other, and a plurality of third barrier ribs(133) arranged between the discharge cells. Red, green, and blue phosphor layers(126R,126G,126B) are arranged at the red, green, and blue discharge cells, respectively. The discharge cell having the highest luminance of the red, green, and blue discharge cells has a large size in comparison with sizes of the remaining discharge cells.
