An active magnetic refrigerator is provided to improve heat exchange efficiency because of no mixing between heat conduction fluids by respectively separating a first heat exchange unit from a second magnetic heat exchange unit, and circulating the heat conduction fluids in two cycles. An active magnetic refrigerator comprises first and second magnetic heat exchange units(113A,113B), a magnet member(140), a high temperature heat exchanger(162), a low temperature heat exchanger(163), a first solenoid valve(120a) and a second solenoid valve(120b). The first and second magnetic heat exchange units include magnetic heat amount material for passing through flow of heat conduction fluid. The magnet member applies or removes magnetic field to/from a first heat exchange unit or a second magnetic heat exchange unit. The high temperature heat exchanger is coupled to the first and second magnetic heat exchange units so as to be capable of being circulated. The low temperature heat exchanger is coupled to the first and second magnetic heat exchange units so as to be capable of being circulated. The first solenoid valve converts direction of first heat conduction fluid flowing from the high temperature heat exchanger into the first heat exchange unit or the second magnetic heat exchange unit. The second solenoid valve converts direction of second heat conduction fluid flowing from the low temperature heat exchanger into the first heat exchange unit or the second magnetic heat exchange unit.
