<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of satisfactorily cleaning off toner on a transfer material carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the difference of velocity between a peripheral speed of a transfer material transporting belt 7 and that of photoreceptor drums 9M, 9C, 9Y, and 9K in cleaning is made larger than that at the time of normal image formation. This configuration allows unnecessary toner on the transfer material transporting belt 7 to be efficiently and stably transferred to the photoreceptor drums 9M, 9C, 9Y, and 9K in a short time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
