A method for preventing leakage of information and a recording medium storing a program thereof are provided to prevent information leakage using various types of key loggers including driver-level key loggers by using a key logger detection program, which detects the key logger through a memory test by inducing the key logger to steal virtual ID information. The virtual ID information is generated and a key event is generated by using the virtual ID information(S102). The virtual ID information is searched in a memory by obtaining a list of processes using the memory and searching the virtual ID information from a memory area used by the process included in the list(S107). If the virtual memory is found in the memory, a warning is displayed to a user(S110).
