An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent degradation of image quality by alternately supplying high and low grayness data to respective sub-pixels of a liquid crystal panel. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a data conversion unit and a liquid crystal panel. The data conversion unit converts input data(Gn) to first and second data(Gn1,Gn2), and selectively outputs one of the first and second data. The liquid crystal panel displays a field, which includes the first and second data from the data conversion unit based on the position of a sub-pixel. The data conversion unit includes a memory(42), first and second look-up tables(44,46), and a selection unit(48). The memory stores the input data. The first and second look-up tables convert the input data from the memory into the first and second data, respectively. The selection unit selectively outputs one of the first and second data from the first and second look-up tables.
