1278431 Knitting machines &c C TERROT SOHNE 29 Sept 1969 [16 Oct 1968] 47732/69 Heading D1C In pattern apparatus for circular knitting machines, hinged to the needles I are jacks 2 carrying on their lower ends springs 3 which are controlled or indirectly by magnetic forces produced partly or wholly by a pulse generator. As shown springs 3 move in the direction of the solid arrow to "stitch" position under the influence of magnet 4 but if electromagnet 5 is energized by a pulse to render magnet 4 ineffective then they take the dotted arrow path to "no stitch" position. In another arrangement two electromagnets 7, 8 have armatures connected by a rod 9 carrying a deflector 6 for jacks 3 which is normally held in one or other of its positions respectively by a permanent magnet 10 or 11. The magnetic forces may be produced by high amplitude short duration pulses controlled by transistor controlled capacitors. |
