Film base material consists of a polyethylene-terephthalate film to which is bonded a layer (A), which is placed on the film before the latter is completely oriented. Film base materials consisting of polyethylene-terephthalate are generally biaxially oriented in order to give a stronger, more dimensionally stable material. The present method of placing layer (A) on the film base before the latter is fully oriented gives laminates in which the two layers are bonded more strongly.
