APPARATUS FOR MANAGING INSTALLATION OF DRM AND METHOD THEREOF

A method and a device for managing installation of DRM is provided to confirm certification and perform decryption by requesting DRM secret for using the DRM of contents to a DRM center and installing the DRM based on the received DRM secrete. A unified DRM arbiter(230) requests the DRM secrete required for installing and certifying the DRM to the DRM center if the DRM secrete is not found, certifies a signature or a UTM(United DRM installer Trust Manager) server included in the DRM secrete received from the DRM center, and transfers the DRM secrete according to certification. A TPM(Trusted Platform Module)(210) receives the DRM secrete from the Unified DRM arbiter, performs the certification of a TPM server included in the DRM secrete, and decodes and uses the DRM secrete to install the DRM according to the certification. The TPM includes the function for preventing change of a TPM public certificate and a TPC private key, and the function for installing the DRM.
