摘要 <p>A handover method for minimizing a packet call re-connection delay time between different mobile communication methods and a multimode terminal therefor are provided to reduce a delay time that is inevitably generated when a packet call is re-connected between a WCDMA system and a CDMA system from scores of seconds to such a few seconds that a user may not recognize the disconnection of a packet service. A CDMA modem(340) receives conditions for starting a packet call re-connection from the first communication network to the second communication network during a packet service through the first communication network, monitors the packet service state through the first communication network to determine whether the received packet call re-connection start conditions are met. When the packet call re-connection start conditions are met, the CDMA modem instructs a WCDMA modem(350) to be re-connected to the packet call through the second communication network. The WCDMA modem registers to the second communication network according to the instruction of the CDMA modem, and when the registration is completed, the WCDMA modem connects the packet call with the second communication network and performs the packet service.</p>
