APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MAKING AND HANDLING ERROR MESSAGE

An error message generating/processing method and an error message generating/processing device using the method are provided to exactly deliver an error situation generated between UPnP(Universal Plug and Play) AV(Audio Video) devices to a user, therefore the user can quickly perceive problems produced between the devices. A monitoring unit(210) monitors error situations of controlled devices. A generator(220) generates an error message which contains error information if the error situation occurs. The first transceiver(230) transmits the error message to a control point. The controlled devices are UPnP AV devices, and the error message is transmitted through the GENA(General Event Notification Architecture) protocol.
