Provided is a method for preparing an N-sulfonyl imidate useful as an intermediate in a drug manufacturing process under mild condition to improve production yield by using a copper catalyst. A method comprises the step of reacting an acetylene compound represented by a formula 1, a sulfonyl azide compound represented by a formula 2 and an alcohol compound represented by R3-OH in a solvent in the presence of a basic compound and a copper catalyst to prepare an N-sulfonyl imidate represented by a formula 4, wherein R1 is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aryl group, a silyl group, or a heteroaryl group containing at least one selected from N, O and S; R2 is an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heteroaryl group containing N; and R3 is a primary alkyl group, a secondary alkyl group, a phenyl group, an alkenyl group, or an aryl group.
