DECISION APPARATUS OF THE SOC OF BATTERY AND DECISION METHOD THEREOF

A device and a method for deciding the SOC(State Of Charge) of a battery are provided to exactly judge the SOC of a battery pack by using battery pack voltage. A device for deciding the SOC of a battery including at least one pack having plural battery cells(C_1~C_N) is composed of a cell voltage measuring unit(200); a sensing unit(500) measuring information about pack current and cell temperature of the battery; a pack voltage computing unit(300) calculating pack voltage of the battery by using pack current information and information about resistance of the battery pack including the measured cell and cell voltage; and a control unit(600) for selecting one of plural cells, transmitting a control signal to the cell voltage measuring unit to measure voltage of the cell, detecting information about the SOC of the cell with the measured voltage by using information about the pack current and cell temperature, and judging the SOC of the battery by corresponding the calculated pack voltage with information about the SOC of the cell.
