A slide operation type switch is provided to perform a smooth operation when performing a pressing operation in a sliding state of an operational body. An operational body(2) is slidable in a direction along a virtual plane. A plurality of movable contacts(4) are arranged to surround the operational body. A fixing contact(5) corresponds to the movable contacts in order to be electrically connected with any one of the movable contacts when the operational body is slid. A supporter(3) contacts with a sliding surface opposite to an operational surface of the operational body in order to allow a sliding movement of the operational body. The supporter and the operational body are inserted into a case in order to be moved along a pressing direction. A posture maintaining unit maintains a relative position between the operational body and the case when the operational body and the case are moved in the pressing direction.
