A method for reducing an LSP(Label Switched Path) setup failure rate in an MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) network is provided to allow LSP setup to be conducted on the basis of up-to-date network state information included in a message received from an ingress LSR(Label Switching Router). If a signaling message is received from another LSR(401), type of the signaling message is decided on(402). If the received message is a notification message or a withdraw message, available bandwidth information related to a link on an LSP and LSP setup failure generation location information are extracted(403). The available bandwidth information is updated in a link state information table as up-to-date network state information(405).
