<p>Ethoxylated fatty amines with C15-ethoxyethyl groups are prepd. by ethoxylating monolaurylamine, opt. together with lower and higher homologues, so that the wts. x, y and z of the higher homologues in the form of monomyristylamine, monopolmitylamine and monostearylaurine are equivalent to the expression x + 2 (y + z) =25, when higher homologues are present. The fatty amine mixt pref. contains at least 65% wt monolaurylamine, less than 25% wt lower homologues, and less than 6% wt higher homologues The present ethoxylated fatty amines are added in small amounts to alkaline cellulose xanthate baths in order to form a regular and controlled iomigation in the viscose thread. Unlike other ethoxylated fatty amines, the present fatty amines do not block the spinnerets, and/or disadvantageously effect the appearance of the threads.</p> |
