Printing plates are prepared from a plate, sheet or film having a highly reflective support bearing a layer comprising a polymer binder, at least one monomer having at least two polymerizable double bonds, an indigoid dye, and optionally a photoinitiator and/or a polymerization inhibitor, by (i) exposing through a transparency, and (ii) removing the unexposed areas with solvent. Preferably the support has a metal or painted surface, and the binder is a polyamide, a polyvinyl resin, a polyester or a cellulose derivative. The polyunsaturated monomer may be mixed with a monounsaturated monomer.</p> |
