[Also in Divisions D1-D2] Compositions for the preparation of dyeableshaped articles comprise (1) a film or fibreforming polymer, (2) an epichlorohydrin/amine polycondensate and (3) a polyamide, polyether, polyester, olefin polymer, vinyl pyridine polymer or modified epoxy resin of molecular weight greater than 1000. Specified components are (1) crystalline polyolefins and fibre-forming acrylic and vinyl polymers, (2) N,N<SP>1</SP>-dicyclohexylhexamethylene - diamine / epichlorohydrin/ piperazine condensates and (3) polylaurolactam, polycaprolactam, polyhexamethylene adipamide, dimerized fatty acid/polyalkylene polyamine condensates, ethylene and propylene polymers, polymers of isobutyl, methyl, methyl and butyl and butyl and isobutyl methacrylates, polyethylene sebacate, polypropylene sebacate, polyvinyl alkyl ethers, amine modified epoxy resins, polymers and copolymers of 2-vinyl pyridine and 2-methyl-5-vinyl pyridine, and styrene / 2 - vinyl pyridine copolymers. The compositions may also comprise opacifiers, dyes, pigments, stabilizers and lubricants. In examples fibres are spun from compositions comprising polypropylene, a polycondensate of N,N<SP>1</SP> - dicyclohexamethylene diamine, epichlorohydrin and piperazine, and (1) polyethylene, (2) polylaurolactam, (3) polyethylene sebacate, (4) polyvinyl isobutyl ether, (5) a reaction product of n-octadecylamine and an epichlorohydrin/bisphenol A resin and (6) polyvinyl pyridine.</p> |
