<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The system (5) has a rear connecting rod (24) rotatably connected to a seat (10) of a vehicle and to a guide (22). An intermediate connecting rod (34) is rotatably connected to the guide, and a front connecting rod (30) is rotatably connected to the seat and the intermediate connecting rod. A locking system (40) integrates the intermediate connecting rod and the guide when the seat is in a utilization position, and rotates the intermediate connecting rod with respect to the guide when the seat is moved towards a retracted position. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of retracting a seat of a vehicle (2) a method of shaping a seat of a vehicle for utilizing the seat as a shelf (3) a method of displacing a seat of a vehicle. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for retracting a seat of a motor vehicle into a housing located in a floor pan of the vehicle (claimed) for creating space for transporting bulky objects, and for arranging the seat in the shape of a shelf. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The retraction system permits to retract the seat into the housing by moving the seat with limited amplitudes, so that the retraction system can be easily utilized in a heavy-weight seat. The arrangement of the connecting rods and the seat permits to obtain the retraction system with simple design and reduced cost.
