Glycoconjugate vaccines for use in immune-compromised populations

Disclosed is the use of a glycoconjugate of: (i) a negatively-charged Staphylococcal polysaccharide antigen that comprises beta-linked hexosamine as a major carbohydrate component and comprises no O-acetyl groups and (ii) an immunocarrier, in the preparation of a vaccine for the protection of immune-compromised human from Staphylococcal bacterial infections, wherein said vaccine comprises an amount of the glycoconjugate to protect an immune-compromised individual from Staphylococcal bacterial infection.
