An air conditioner is provided to reduce noises generated during the expansion of coolant in an expansion device by having a uniform coolant flow using a screen. An air conditioner includes a noise reduction unit(30). The noise reduction unit includes a body(32), a screen(34), and a noise absorption member(33). The body forms an inner passage for coolant. The inner passage is directly connected to a coolant pipe which is connected to an expansion unit of an indoor unit. The noise absorption member is a foaming aluminum layer and absorbs the flowing noise of the coolant generated when the coolant flows in the inner passage. The screen is installed inside of the noise reduction unit. The screen is a mesh type to make the coolant flow uniform by removing a pressure difference of the coolant discharged through the inner passage. The screen filters impurities from the coolant.
