Topically applicable pharmaceutical preparation of roflumilast and liquid paraffin

Disclosed is a topically applicable pharmaceutical preparation comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient together with one or more pharmaceutical carriers and/or excipients suitable for topical administration, where the active pharmaceutical ingredient is a compound selected from the group consisting of roflumilast, salt of roflumilast or a N-oxide of the pyridine residue of roflumilast or salt thereof, which topically applicable pharmaceutical preparation is an ointment and which contains a paraffin which is suitable for topical use and is liquid at body temperature. Also disclosed is the use of these topically applicable pharmaceutical preparations (which may be in the form of transdermal therapeutical system (TTS)) for the production of a medicament for the systemic treatment of a disease selected from the group consisting of acute or chronic airway disorders of various aetiologies, disorders of the arthritic type or for the treatment of various dermatoses of the skin.
