METHOD FOR REQUESTING AND TRANSMITTING STATUS REPORT OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND THEREFOR APPARATUS

A method and an apparatus for requesting and transmitting a state report of a mobile communication system are provided to eliminate retransmission errors by detecting the loss of the last PDU(Protocol Data Unit) and transmitting the state report. A method for requesting and transmitting a state report of a mobile communication system includes the steps of: determining whether an AMD PDU to transmit is the last PDU of scheduled PDUs(810); transmitting the AMD PDU if the AMD PDU to transmit is not the last PDU of the scheduled PDUs(830); setting pole bit of the AMD PDU if the AMD PDU to transmit is the last PDU of the scheduled PDUs(815); transmitting the AMD PDU(820); and retransmitting the AMD PDU in at least one transmission cycle.
