Preparation of a substance used in effluent purification system, to eliminate the chemicals such as metals, detergents, hydrocarbons and pesticides, comprises crushing lignite or leonardite to obtain a powder, placing the powder, in an alkaline medium, in contact with micro-organisms, subjecting the powder to the action of the micro-organisms for a given time, regularly eliminating carbon dioxide from the mixture, i.e. resulting from the action of the microorganisms on the lignite or leonardite and subjecting the obtained substance to lump breaking. An independent claim is included for a substance for effluent treatment obtained by the process, comprising a ready-to-use powder, i.e. soluble in water upto 95% of dry matter content, which is dissolved directly in the effluent at 3-10% or initially in a clean water.
