摘要 An optical pickup buffering device of a disc drive is provided to reduce impact transmitted to an optical pickup through a device capable of dispersing external impact transmitted to the optical pickup. An optical pickup base(102) has an optical pickup space(108). Both ends of an optical pickup(112) are supported by a guide shaft(110) formed in the optical pickup base(102). The optical pickup(112) is guided by the guide shaft(110) and is movable front and rear in the optical pickup space(108). A guide shaft holder(114) is formed in the optical pickup base(102). The guide shaft holder(114) supports both ends of the guide shaft(110). An insertion part is formed in the guide shaft holder(114). The insertion part has a safety-receiving part groove and a connecting part groove. The safety-receiving part groove is opened in a direction vertical to a longitudinal direction of the guide shaft(110). The connecting part groove is formed in a front end of the safety-receiving part groove to be opened in the longitudinal direction of the guide shaft(110) and the direction vertical to the longitudinal direction. A buffering member(140) is inserted into the insertion part formed in the guide shaft holder(114). The buffering member(140) reduces impact received in the optical pickup(112) when the optical pickup(112) sharply moves along the guide shaft(110) and collides with a front end of the guide shaft holder(114). The buffering member(140) includes a safety-receiving part, a connecting part, and a protrusion. The safety-receiving part is inserted into the safety-receiving part groove. The connecting part is formed in a front end of the safety-receiving part. The connecting part has width which is relatively narrower than the safety-receiving part. The connecting part is inserted into the connecting part groove. The protrusion is formed in a front end of the connecting part. The protrusion has width which is relatively broader than the connecting part. The protrusion is protruded to the front end of the guide shaft holder(114).
