A plasma lighting system having a multilateral column type resonator is provided to improve radiation efficiency by modifying a shape of the resonator. A circular waveguide electromagnetic wave has a cylinder shape and is used for guiding an electromagnetic wave having a high frequency oscillated from an electromagnetic wave generation unit. A resonator(50) is coupled with one side of the waveguide in order to shield the emission of the electromagnetic wave to the outside and to form a resonant mode. A lateral section of the resonator is formed with a polygonal shape. An electrodeless lamp is disposed inside the resonator.
