The system has a transformer with a primary circuit connected to a main electric supply of a vehicle and arranged in a body shell (100) of the vehicle, and a secondary circuit arranged in a lateral sliding door (10) of the vehicle. The primary circuit receives current from the main power supply and induces a voltage in the secondary circuit to provide current to an electronic control unit (50) when the door is in open position. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an opening of a vehicle (b) a method for maintaining an electronic control unit of an opening in a vehicle, in a waking state.
