PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector enabling much more reduction in work processes for a rotator to be fitted with a magnet and moreover preventing the magnet from being broken by a molding pressure. SOLUTION: The torque detector includes: a magnetic circuit formation member comprising a tubular magnet provided on a peripheral part of a first rotating body and a magnetic ring disposed on the periphery of the tubular magnet to rotate with a second rotating body coupled to the first rotator; a magnetism collective ring part for collecting magnetic flux generated by the formation member; and a detection part for detecting torque applied to the first or second rotator based on the density of the magnetic flux collected by the ring part. The tubular magnet is made by curing a synthetic resin mixed with magnetic powder on the peripheral part of the first rotator, and by magnetizing it. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
