PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely forbid the acceptance of tokens exceeding a prescribed number by moving a movable guide and projecting a stopper. SOLUTION: This token selector is provided with a driving means forcedly moving the movable guide 11 from a forbidden position being constantly energized to an acceptance position, and the stopper 20 disposed on a downstream side of the movable guide, being energized into a token passage and capable of retreating outside the passage; the movable guide is formed with an engaging portion 11c engaged with an engaged portion 20c of the stopper, which has a separate body from the movable guide, only when being moved to the acceptance position by the driving means and pushing the engaged portion in the direction of retreating the projecting portion 20b outside the token passage; and the projection portion of the stopper is formed with an inclination portion 20d, when projecting into the token passage, abutting on the outer circumferential face closer to its upper end than the central height of the passing token and is upward inclined in abutment.
