PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable absorbent article which facilitates its application along with an improved look when folded by restricting its thickness to make it foldable compact. SOLUTION: A back side flap part 16 and a belly side flap part 18 are folded on the first and second folding lines 21 and 21 and 22 and 22. The body 1 of the absorbent article as the portion outward from the third folding lines 23 and 23 is folded back to the side of a surface sheet 2 so as to keep the first folding lines 21 and 21 from overlapping each other along the third folding lines 23 and 23. This also keeps the portions folded back of the absorbent 4 from overlapping each other and so, restricts the thickness of the absorbent article body 1 being folded, thereby making the body 1 of the absorbent article foldable compact. The inward folding of leg gathers improves the look when folded. The second back side folding back part is folded back along the second folding lines 22 and 22. The folded back part is opened with the body 1 of the absorbent article folded back to expose a tape part 31, thereby facilitating the application of the article. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
