The device has a sensor e.g. temperature sensor and a comparison circuit connected in technical communication with the sensor and memory unit. The comparison circuit (26) compares the values detected by sensor with the desired preset values stored in memory unit. The sensor emits a corresponding signal depending on the determined comparison values. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determination of battery status with sensor (2) a battery e.g. lead-acid battery having a recombination device for recombination of the gases, hydrogen and oxygen to water.
