A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDLING VOIP UE'S CALL REQUEST INCLUDING THE REAL-TIME SERVICE TOWARD CSI UE

A method and an apparatus for processing a call request of a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) terminal including a real time service through an IMS(Internet protocol Multimedia Sub-system) domain by a CSI(Combined CS call and IMS session) terminal are provided to allow a CSI terminal to smoothly communicate with a VoIP terminal in a particular network in which a CS(Circuit Switched) domain is not used by determining whether to use the CS domain according to a situation. An INVITE message including a real time service is received from a VoIP terminal through an IMS domain. A CSI terminal determines whether to use a CS call for the real time service in response to the INVITE message. When the CSI terminal determines that it would not use a CS call for the real time service, the CSI terminal processes a call request through an IMS session with a VoIP terminal. When the CS call is determined to be used for the real time service, the CSI terminal uses the CS call for the real time service included in the call request and uses an IMS session for a non-real time service included in the call request to thus process the call request.
