<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that the Ru catalyst generally used for a steam reforming reaction produces NH<SB>3</SB>from N<SB>2</SB>and H<SB>2</SB>at a temperature of about 600°C in the case where the natural gas contains 1-3% nitrogen, and that when NH<SB>3</SB>is supplied to a Ru-based selective oxidation catalyst part, the reduction of activity occurs in the case of the Ru catalyst, and a gas containing high concentration CO is supplied to the stack because the exit CO concentration gradually increases, and the voltage drops in the worst case. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for producing hydrogen is provided with a reforming part 1 for producing a hydrogen-containing gas by a reforming reaction from a raw material, and with selective oxidation parts 3, 6 having selective oxidation catalyst layers for reducing the carbon monoxide in the hydrogen-containing gas by a selective oxidation reaction, and during the reforming reaction a nitrogen-containing gas is supplied to the reforming part, wherein the selective oxidation catalyst layers have a first selective oxidation catalyst layer containing Ru as a noble metal and a second selective oxidation catalyst layer containing Pt as a noble metal downstream of the first selective oxidation part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
