PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new tone wheel that is highly reliable, while using a plastic magnet. SOLUTION: The tone wheel comprises both a metal-reinforcing ring 13, integrally fitted over a rotational-side member 2 (4) and a ring-like multipole magnet 14 fixed to the metal reinforcing ring 13, and constitutes a rotation-detecting magnetic encoder E with a magnetic sensor 9 fixed to a fixed-side member 5. The ring-like multipole magnet is made of a plastic magnet where a ring-like resin mold, molded with magnetic powder contained, is alternately magnetized with a large number of N poles and S poles along its circumferential direction. The metal-reinforcing ring is provided with an engaging part for allowing the insertion engagement of a part of the resin mold. By molding the ring-like resin mold by filling a resin material in a molding die in which the metal reinforcing ring is arranged, the resin material is engaged with and inserted in an engaging part 15, and the hardened ring-like resin mold is united and fastened to, and integrated with the metal-reinforcing ring by the wedge-like fastening of the engaged and inserted part.
