PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepladder comprising a plurality of step treads 2 at constant spaces, easily movable without being lifted, and foldable when stored. SOLUTION: The treads 2 are bendably connected through connecting hinges 9, and both sides of the treads 2 are mounted to frames 1a, 1b of approximately inverted U-shape. Brackets 11a, 11b are fitted to the frames 1a, 1b, and tread pieces 8a, 8b are bendably connected through joints 12a, 11b provided at the brackets 11a, 11b. The connecting hinges 9 mounted to the center of the respective treads 2 are connected to each other by connecting members 3, while free balls 13 are mounted to the leg lower ends of the frames 1a, 1b. When load is applied, the free balls 13 retreat due to the compressive deformation of built-in coil springs 19, and the leg lower ends touch a floor face. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
