PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low mol. wt. organic compound capable of forming amorphous films which have light/electron conversion functions and themselves have excellent heat resistance, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This compound represented by the general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>3</SP>are each identically or differently independently H, OH, carboxyl, cyano, carbamoyl, a 1 to 10C alkyl, or a 1 to 10C alkanoyl; V is N or C; two W are simultaneously N or C; V and W may be identical or different), and the method for producing the same.
