PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press-operation type two-stage switch system and an endoscope applying the same capable of contributing to improvement of operability and removing causes of two electric switches having operational defects. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a first switch 44, first inputting members 40, 41 arranged above the first switch in free sliding up and down and capable of inputting the first switch at its inputting position, a second switch 37 fitted at an upper layer of the first switch, second inputting members 34, 32 arranged above the second switch in free sliding up and down and capable of inputting the second switch at its inputting position, an operating part 31 kept coupled with the first inputting members and the second inputting members, and a supporting mechanism for supporting the first inputting members and the second inputting members so that the former is positioned at the first switch inputting position by a first pressing force given the operating members and the latter is positioned at the second switch inputting position by a second pressing force continuously given the first pressing force from a state in which the first pressing force is imparted.
