<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pharmaceuticals, foods, drinks or feed each using a substance or a composition containing the substance, through developing the substance having insulin-like effect, being safe, easily takable and suitable as a food material or pharmaceutical material. <P>SOLUTION: A curative/prophylactic agent for diseases associated with the change in insulin levels or insulin response is provided, comprising as active ingredient(s) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of chalcone compound, acetophenone compound, coumarin compound, phthalide compound, derivatives thereof and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof.
