<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a phenomenon that obtrusive flickering appears in a projection image of a projector even in a situation that a phenomenon occurs in which a lamp voltage returns and a periodical modulation dependent on light spectrum is received by means that light reflected by a dynamic color filter such as a rotating color wheel moves back in an optical system and returns to the lamp, in a discharge lamp lighting device to light the high brightness discharge lamp such as a high pressure discharge lamp, especially a high pressure mercury lamp, a metal halide lamp, and a xenon lamp which are used in the projector. <P>SOLUTION: At least in a regular lighting state of a discharge lamp (Ld), a target lamp current signal generation circuit (Up) acquires a plurality of numbers of lamp voltage detection signals (Sv) over a period of a length or more of a color sequential period of the dynamic color filter (Of), and forms the target lamp current signal (St) based on the acquired plurality of numbers of lamp voltage detecting signals (Sv). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
