PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter unit used for an air conditioner and the like which is excellent in air tightness and which is capable of easily conducting the replacement and abandonment of a filtering media. SOLUTION: The filter unit is characterized in that an air inlet is provided at one of a pair of opposite lateral faces of the rectangular frame and an air outlet is provided at the other of a pair of opposite lateral faces, a plurality of axis members alternately bridge another pair of the lateral faces so that one of the axis member is located at the air inlet side and the other vertical axis members are located at the air outlet side, and a filtration part is formed by hooking a sheet-like filter medium to the bridging axis member to stretch it zigzag so that one end of the stretched sheet-like filter can be wound by a winding device.
