PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device in which response time is improved. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device comprises: a process for sticking a 1st substrate 10 and a 2nd substrate 20 to each other with predetermined spacing in-between while making the formation surface side of a 1st electrode 11 face the formation surface side of a 2nd electrode 21; a process for filling a liquid containing a liquid crystal material and a polymeric compound 34 between the 1st substrate 10 and the 2nd substrate 20; a process for polymerizing the polymeric compound 34 in a state an electric field is applied between the 1st electrode 11 and the 2nd electrode 21, and thereby forming a liquid crystal layer 30 where liquid crystal drops are dispersed in a polymer 34'.
