PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector for providing both modes of color saturation priority and brightness priority. SOLUTION: The projector includes a light source device; an optical source side optical system composed of a color wheel 221, a light guide rod, a lens group and the like; a display element; a projection side optical system; a wheel motor driving the color wheel 221; a motor moving means for moving the wheel motor; and a projector control means. The wheel motor and the color wheel 221 are moved by the motor moving means, and optical brightness and saturation transmitting each colored filter 221R, 221G, 221B of the color wheel 221 are changed.
