<p>[PROBLEMS] To provide a filter simultaneously having the effects of not only being capable of effectively remove toxic substances, such as benzo[a]pyrene, contained in outdoor and indoor air but also being substantially free from any deterioration of dust collection effectiveness. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is provided a filter for air conditioner to be fitted to an air passage of air conditioner including means for not only introduction of outdoor air in equipment interior but also circulation of air within the equipment interior, which filter is characterized by being composed of a filter base material of nonwoven fabric monolayer sheet or nonwoven-fabric-sheet-including laminate and, retained on the filter base material, DNA microparticles capable of intercalation trapping of toxic substances, such as benzo[a]pyrene, the DNA microparticles consisting of microparticles of 50 to 2000 µm average diameter having a double helix DNA attached to support surface as desired through a binder, the DNA microparticles contained in an amount of 0.05 to 20 mass% based on the mass of the filter base material.</p> |
