A protective layer of a plasma display panel, a method for fabricating the same, and an electron beam target are provided to improve quality thereof by including nano-powders having MgO of a single crystal. An electron beam target for forming a protective layer of a plasma display panel includes nano-powders(110) having MgO of a single crystal. The nano-powders are formed with a type of porous pellet(100). The MgO of the single crystal has a size of 10 to 100nm. A method for manufacturing the electron beam target includes a process for implanting the nano-powders including the MgO of the single crystal into a basket and a process for heating the nano-powders included in the basket.
