PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device, capable of carrying out boosting control without deteriorating responsiveness, nor causing severe noise. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is provided with a torque sensor 10 to detect steering torque added to a steering member (unillustrated), steering angular speed detection means 12 and 30 to detect steering angular speed of the steering member, a means 12 to drive-control a motor 24 for steering assist by a drive circuit 13 based on the steering torque detected by the torque sensor 10, and boosting means 12 and 13 to boost the voltage applied to the drive circuit 13 up to a prescribed voltage. It is also provided with a computation means 12 to compute steering angular acceleration based on the detected steering angular speed. The boosting means 12 and 13 boost the voltage to be added to the drive circuit 13 at boosting speed corresponding to the steering angular acceleration computed by the computation means 12.
